It's almost the exact same design as the faux clay! Even down to the numbering scheme. Any idea who owns this mold? Is there any other casinos that used it? I'd like to buy that chip if anyone knows someone who has it. Was this a true faux or maybe the inspiration that would later start a nation?
I am not 100% familiar with that chip, but have seen it enough to say it is not a faux clay. It wouldn't surprise me if the dice design was part of what was used for the FC mold though. I'm sure JGOF or one of the other collectors with a wealth of knowledge will chime in

This is the DieSwirl / Diswirl mold owned by Midwest Gaming Supply. I used to have the .25 binions chip but recently sold it to a CTer.
Dice are used on a lot of the great old moulds including Arrow and Dice (Arrodie) and Dice and Cards (Diecar). There are some on the Nevada Mould and quite a few others.
I'll take anyones ugly arrodie chips off their hands. Dice chips are still crap though .
The FC mould would definitely appear to be inspired by the Dieswirl mould.
Yet FC haters say that dice on chips is "stupid" or "ugly". Dice on chips is classic, people! Classic!
Preach it!

Yeah Travis, I remember playing blackjack with those $5 checks...I know because I remember commenting on the colour like "This is an unusual colour for a 5 isn't it?" Mind you at the time I didn't know what a faux clay was. Thanks for that... a memory just popped back.
Here's a link the diswirl mold plus other molds with dice in it. mold designs -- dice
If you're interested in picking up those 3 chips. You're looking at $20 to $70 each depending the chip(I don't have extras to sell). Price may drop later. When I first saw the diswirl mold I wasn't too crazy about it. But I would take this mold over FC any day. IMO. There's just something about FC I don't know what.
