Chips: 761 | | | Home Clays : Paulson Shaped Inlays Vs. BCC Flame mold Paulson Shaped Inlays Vs. BCC Flame mold
I'm seeking advice and or opinions on the Pro/Cons of these two molds. I have the Shaped Inlays which I like but I'm interested in the BCC Royal Classics.
My question is which one is better? Looks aside, are the 2 chips comparable? Would I be foolish to sell my Pauslons for the BCC Flame mold?
I can't have both because money will be tight for he next few months. So that's out of the question. Any help would be appreciated.
Here are the two chip/molds in question.
The first one is from RoyalPokerSupply (sponsor):
The second one is from my collection: btw -5 chips for this post is bogus because there's no other spot for it.

Chips: 275 | | | Re: Home Clays Paulson Shaped Inlays Vs. BCC Flame mold I say keep the Paulsons....
They feel better... I have a sample set of some BCC chips on that mold and they just don't have the same feel as the Paulsons. |

Chips: 205 | | | Re: Home Clays Paulson Shaped Inlays Vs. BCC Flame mold I am so glad you posted this thread Irish. I am trying to build a Paulson set, then I see the Royal Poker Classics. The price difference, especially with the sale Mark is running is a no brainer.......BCC for sure. But I have only seen these in pics and not the thread. I have a sample set on order, that I hope gets here soon.
I have some BCC Casino de Isthmus, and they are nice, but the Paulsons do have a different feel to them.
HOWEVER, if you want to sell me your Paulsons, I will take them lol |

The Blue Chips are harder but transfer color less and are more durable. The Paulsons have a sound that is different, not necessarily more pleasant, though I think most folks enjoy the sounds of the Paulsons more when shuffling and splashing. Shaped inlays are cool, but I like the larger, clearer inlays on the Royals. It comes down to whether you want the softer feel and sound of the Paulson and the flashier edgespots, or the harder BC's that I actually like the looks of better. As for the molds, I am one of the people who likes the flame mold, as I think it is low key and does not deteriorate from a wide range of potential designs. The Paulsons' mold is very busy, and though an improvement over the horrendous PAULSON CHIPS mold, it is still a bit loud for me.
I think that if you can get some extra BC's for the same price as the Paulsons, you should get the BCs. |

Chips: 2,654 | | | Re: Home Clays Paulson Shaped Inlays Vs. BCC Flame mold I love my Paulson shaped inlays alot. I have over 1500 of them and I'm hanging on to them. BCC heavier weighted chips are alot nicer than the lighter ones so I'd have to get both. If its a choice I would add to my Paulsons before swithing to BCC . |

Chips: 3,049 | | | Re: Home Clays Paulson Shaped Inlays Vs. BCC Flame mold I forgot to factor in that you already have some of the Paulsons. If yours are not warped (I have heard some had problems with warping) then you have to take into account that you could have a bigger playable set of them. Plus, they would be more readily available to add to, as some of the Royals will sell out and take longer to be re-stocked.
Sorry, I guess I am not making this any easier. |

Chips: 510 | | | Re: Home Clays : Paulson Shaped Inlays Vs. BCC Flame mold This is almost a sacrilege for me since I own almost 10,000 Paulsons but in this case I would choose the BCC chips. I don't think the BCC are better - they are just better looking. I never cared for the Top Hat shaped inlays or the colors. And as Kyle said the $100 and $5000 are hawt. I also love the $1. |

Chips: 225 | | | Re: Home Clays : Paulson Shaped Inlays Vs. BCC Flame mold This is a tough one, I used to have the Paulson shaped inlays...I loved them but I agree the mold is a little busy. I am really starting to come around on the BCC flame molds. I think they are great inlayed chips, especially these ones...If they did not have money signs on the inlay, I would probably look at getting some!
I don't know what to tell you! I would say get a sample of the BCC's before you make a decision either way and look at pricing as well. Since the Paulson's are home market Paulson's, I would not necessarily worry about the fact that you are getting rid of "Paulson's"...IMO the home market Paulson's are not "Paulson's"...
Good luck, either way, we better see pics! |

Chips: 1,083 | | | Re: Home Clays : Paulson Shaped Inlays Vs. BCC Flame mold Since the flame mold is my least favorite mold of all, it's an easy choice based on that alone. Add to that the fact that even Paulson home chips feel and handle like Paulsons and that makes my decision even easier.
