Your deal just seems like something someone's ex-wife or mother would sell. I had a friend of a friend who got an original Corvette. Kid came in from the army, bought it, drove it around town and then went right back on tour. He was killed on duty and this car sat under a tarp in his mom's garage for 30yrs with less than 5,000 miles on it. It's been too long to remember the exact details, but I think the lady wanted a grand for it.

I think this is an urban legend..I've heard the same tale.
