Hi fellow chiptalkers,
I sold my Wyndhams yesterday - sad to see them go - but I had to sell some chips to feed my addiction for getting a new set of chips.
Here's what I want to get:
I'm looking for a cash set, denom or NCV, I like both, so it's mostly down to which chips look best. I could even live with getting $25, $100, $500, etc. if they look better than the lower denominations, and just divide them with 100 to get my usual stakes. I mostly play NL with 0.25/0.50 blinds or 0.50/1 blinds. So, I would get something like:
120 0.25s
200 1s
140 5s
40 25s
Keep in mind, I wouldn't mind NCV chips either.
So, I could go two ways:
I really like Cali/Pastel colors, and they would also compliment my ASM set nicely.
I already have an ASM set in standard Vegas colors (312 spotted chips no inlay, bought back in the day before ASM lifted the restrictions on spot options - I'll hold on to these, as they were my first quality set. I paid quite a bit getting them to Europe with customs tax and all, so it won't really make sense to sell, as I would get a lot less for them).
If I went Cali/pastel colors, I could go with:
- Paulson NCV Private Cardroom
- Mardi Gras BCC clays
- T mold blanks
The Paulson NCV Private Cardroom look nice in the cali colors (pink, blue, yellow and grey or black). But people tend to say there are problems with this line of chips and also mention color transferas an issue. Any thoughts? I do like that the hotstamp only says "Private Cardroom", as I think, they fit the theme of a home game. Whereas the theme of some fantasy casino inlays, doesn't really fit my personal interest or anything that makes them feel like "my theme". If you know what I'm trying to say.
I could also get a really nice classic/old school looking set, as some of the sets below have been praised a lot on this board, here I'm thinking of:
- Nevada Jacks Clays
- Samurai BCC Clays
I'm really starting to like the Nevada Jacks clays. So, what are peoples thoughts on those? I reckon the cash denoms could look really nice. Are they BCC, and how's the QC on those?
Also, the Samurais have been hyped a lot on this board for being great chips. The only thing I'm not sure of is the inlay design. I'm not particularly into the Samurai theme, so maybe they wouldn't really feel like "my" chips.
Whereas maybe the Nevada Jacks just look old school and nice, and can fit into any poker game. What do you think?
So, my question is what would you get? Pros and cons of the chips mentioned, anything to help me make up my mind.
At the moment, I'm actually starting to lean towards the Nevada Jack clays. But then again, a couple of days ago, I was leaning towards Private Cardroom and Samurais. You know how it is changing your mind of which chips to get all the time.
Sorry for the long post. Really looking forward for input.
Thanks,
MC
