Chips: 4 | | | Need advice on new chips I need some advice.
I want to get some new chips, which is why I'm trading/selling my Wyndhams chipset (can't afford to buy new chips without selling some other chips).
Anyways, I don't know whether to get:
PNY chip set
Private Cardroom NCV home Paulsons
T-mold blanks (I would go for California/pastel colors)
The PNYs are obviously great chips and original Paulson casino TH&C chips. But my other chip set ( 650 ASM chip with 312 edge spots, no inlay) is also in traditional Vegas colors.
So, that's why I'm contemplating getting a California colored chip set instead, as my new set. I'm think of getting either Private Cardroom NCV chips (would get pink, blue, yellow and grey chips) or getting a T-mold blank chip set from HPC.com in Cali/Pastel colors.
So, what would you do and recommend me to do??? I need some advice. These chips are going to be used for home cash games. So I'm going to get these for playing not just for sitting on shelf for collecting purposes.
Thanks,
MC |

But if money is not a factor, man the PNY way ahead. |

I agree with Vince 100%. The Paulson home's just don't do it unless you can deal with the issues and get them at a GREAT price. The PC's are sweet and you KNOW I love the PNY's. You say there for a home cash game, so depending on your usual stakes, that might be the deciding factor. I got lucky and was able to get a rack of the PNY inspired $0.25's to give my home game some versatility. |

I don't know what cash stakes you play, but if the denoms work for you then definitely get the PNYs.
Second choice would be the new Paulson TH&C chips -- I like the Shaped Inlays but it's a matter pf personal preference for hotstamps vs. printed inlays, so if you like hotstamps then get the PCRs. The PNYs denoms did not work for our tourneys, so we got these with the "more clay" mold. They're great chips that we love playing with. |

Chips: 4 | | | Re: Need advice on new chips Thanks for all the input so far. Hopefully more will chime in.
How do the PNYs stack? Does the grand inlay make them slippery or do they stack like champs? And do you think they will get slippery once broken in?
Thanks,

Chips: 4 | | | Re: Need advice on new chips Regarding stakes, I can always just use the $25s as $0.25s and then color them out later if needed. |

Chips: 18,645 | | | Re: Need advice on new chips Well, PNYs are "giant" inlays ("grand" inlays are the medium size, like the new chips in play at the WSOP).
But anyway, they stack great and will stay in good shape for a long time, based on giant-inlay chips I've played with at many casinos. The clay on the edges is higher than the labels, so slipperiness wouldn't be a problem. But we probably have some PNY owners who can give you actual feedback. |

Chips: 2,304 | | | Re: Need advice on new chips Well, my St Jo's $5 with giant inlay even they're pretty much brand new stick as well as the $1 with normal inlay. So that shouldn't be a factor. |

Chips: 14,790 | | | Re: Need advice on new chips This is my personal preferences...
PNY - I have not handled any PNY's, but I do not care for the giant inlay, which is the main reason I don't have any. I much prefer the standard inlay with the concentric circles in the mold - it's more of an old school look.
Private Card Room - I had the hotstamped non-denom PCRs and sold them. I had 200 silver non denoms from the original denominated series and loved them, they are more muted colors. I pre-bought blue and yellow non-denoms when they came out. They look good, but the colors are very bright and the chips are very soft (color transfer).
For Paulsons - I prefer my solid hotstamped casino/fantasy chips. They're used but are silky smooth and shuffle like a dream.
T-mold solids - 99%Evil had these chips and we played with them at his place. I love these chips. They are very chalky and hard to shuffle new, but they can be broken in quickly. He experimented with labels and the very thin vinyl ones will work.
Plus solids will complement your 312 ASM's nicely.
