What this says about Brooks Brothers profit margins....incredible. To sell dice chips with a Brooks Brothers label for $2,500. I wonder what kind of other "quality" products they sell for disgustingly inflated prices? I would think a "premier" establishment like this would go out of their way to offer something that does not resemble the set you can get at Wal-Mart for 39.99.
That $2500 is for the "masterfully crafted wood case from Italy, richly covered in British tan leather" that's hard to find. The chips and card just comes with the case.
A bit of a confession -- I am a Brooks Brothers customer. Mostly shirts, though I've also got a few pairs of pants, and I also pick up the odd accessories here and there. (Oh, and a suit -- bought on sale.)
I saw this set and my jaw dropped (though I don't remember the price tag being quite that high). You would think that the market they cater to would know better.
Well, at least I do.
Edit: I think this is the set I saw. It's on sale now for $134 -- down from an original $268. Still not worth it.
