Chips: 3 | | | "the Egyptian" $1 heiroglyphics I have recently discovered through pure curiosity that the $1 (white) Egyptian chip's heiroglyphics translates to POKER OASIS.
I just thought it was a nice trivia tidbit to share. |

Ironically, I just got a sample set of these this past weekend when my limited edition quarter-pie Samurais arrived. It was for a photo contest MSPatton ran back in November (when I ordered the Samurais). ... just in time to learn what the heiroglyphics stand for. |

Took much searching through 2+2 forums with no success... Finally found it on THP (thanks to google): http://www.texasholdem-poker.com/for...-your-thoughts
My first guess was going to be "Greg's Pyramid" or "Greg's Oasis" or something, but knew it should be 5 letters each word.
Along the way, I did find the evolution of the Egyptians, from v.1 to v.3. If you don't mind, I'd like to post them here (3 year old bump?):
v.1:
v.2:
v.3:
I kind of liked some of the elements from the first versions (artwork on v.1 $25 and $100; glyphs on all v.2 chips; etc.), but there is definitely something to be said for simplicity.
