Do you prefer mint , played, heavily played with rounded corners ?

I used a set of old heavily played paulson cal bells in a cash game and the players positively loved the chips. They said it was the true feel of a casino except the chips were cleaner. I never had as many compliments on any mint Paulsons that I ever used. Anyone out herer have a similiar experience ? what's your preference ?

Re: Do you prefer mint , played, heavily played with rounded corners ?

I had a similar experience with some casino TRKs...I had a bunch of $5 riversides...half were well circulated and half mint-uncirculated...after cleaning and oiling the used, well-rounded TRKs, they had an incredible buttery feel and riffled amazingly. They felt much nicer than the uncirculated ones. Normally I like the stage where the chips have just been lightly broken in, but these worn-down TRKs were a whole different story.

Re: Do you prefer mint , played, heavily played with rounded corners ?

I prefer slightly used with the corners not so sharp. They don't have the tendency to roll like new chips and shuffle nicely. The #1 advantage to mint chips for me is they're clean....no smell or stick to deal with. I'm not a fan of well used chips and sold my Ca Bell Club chips because of it.

I also prefer used ones with slightly rounded edges. also i like it if the linen texture, the paulson chips have is a little worn off.

I like used chips to play with. Sharp edges for collecting.

I don't care how well used they are, I love the feel of the clean used chip. I have a bunch of Sahara yellow and red hot stamps and they are the best feeling chip I own.

Re: Do you prefer mint , played, heavily played with rounded corners ?

I guess for playing I like them a little used... I love my grand casinos.. not to used but they just feel good. My Sahara's have never seen action and are sharp edged and feel dry so I love em for that but not to play with... but hey any clay chip just feels good right? Lately I am really liking the feel of ceramics.. but I dont like the sound! lol

Re: Do you prefer mint , played, heavily played with rounded corners ?

I think that most who prefer sharp edges are doing so on collectors point of view. They want the most for their money which is understandable. However, no way in hell I would prefer the sharp over round in play (with the exception of those chips that are so worn down to the notches of retirement)

Like many here, I enjoy shuffling chips while playing poker online (or live). I must say that the worn down ST Jo's feels 10x better than the mint PNYers.

Re: Do you prefer mint , played, heavily played with rounded corners ?

I like the feel of a chip that is nicely broken in. I've had my TR Kings for around a year now and they just keep getting better and better with more use. I bring a stack of 16 chips to work every night so I have something nice to play with while I kill time at the computer. I alternate the chips every night so that no group gets more attention than the next and they are becoming buttery smooth to shuffle.
