My folks just got back from a six week motorcycle trip through the States and brought me a few chips to play with (from their stop in Nevada). I can now add eight Harley Davidson chips (going to frame these) and 50 WPT chips to my collection.

The WPT chips are actually better than I expected. They do not have the tell-tale metallic clink when shuffled (they make next to no sound at all - very stealthy) and are decent stackers (not as good as Faux Clays though). While they may be 11.5g and made of plastic (reel kley) I am rather impressed with them and am considering adding another 150 for a nice little travel set.

The Harley Davidson chips are another story. Slick hard plastic with a slab of metal in them leave them with one redeeming quality, the HD brand. At over $1 each, I would not recommend these to anyone, even the hardcore Harley enthusiasts. You money is better spent elsewhere. They will look nice in a frame on my wall though.

I have 1400 of the WPT 11.5 gram chips....and they are very good for a slugged chip. They play soft, and do not have a tell tale metalic ring to them. My set contains the hard to come by grey chips as well....so I have Gray, Blue, Red and Black chips. They are a bit slick but stacks of 20 are ok.

For a department store chip I would rate them quite high.

It's too bad the big brands always have to sell out to the crappiest of product lines manufacturers that carry their name.
What ever happened to controlling what one's brand ends up on, in order to properly represent the quality reputation?

That would be nice. I got some of the HD chips last year just to have also.

I gave my Dad a 300-set of the 11.5g WPTs a couple years ago for his B-day. He watches a lot of TV poker, so I knew he'd appreciate the brand name vs. a chip that's genuinely nicer. They're pretty nice for the price, have a much more luxurious feel (with the textured inlay) than most slugged chips, a decent sound, but are a little slippery. Basically, without going ceramic, compression-molded, or faux clay, they're pretty sweet. And considering they've only been used for heads-up when my step-sister or I visit, they definitely fit the bill.

That being said, the Casino Royale chips are pretty nice, too. If they'd existed back then, I probably would've picked them up for him. Similar price, similar sound and feel, but much better at stacking. Can easily stack them 100-high, and move around stacks of 50!
