| Re: Not as bad as advertised I gave my Dad a 300-set of the 11.5g WPTs a couple years ago for his B-day. He watches a lot of TV poker, so I knew he'd appreciate the brand name vs. a chip that's genuinely nicer. They're pretty nice for the price, have a much more luxurious feel (with the textured inlay) than most slugged chips, a decent sound, but are a little slippery. Basically, without going ceramic, compression-molded, or faux clay, they're pretty sweet. And considering they've only been used for heads-up when my step-sister or I visit, they definitely fit the bill.
That being said, the Casino Royale chips are pretty nice, too. If they'd existed back then, I probably would've picked them up for him. Similar price, similar sound and feel, but much better at stacking. Can easily stack them 100-high, and move around stacks of 50! |
