Heck, I'd love to have an electronic home table. That would be awesome! |

Where is the fun?
I liked putting coins in the slots and pulling the handle it killed time and was more fun.
Last time I went to a casino I stuck some card in a slot and pushed buttons and was out $60 in 5 minutes.
What a waste.
Never again. |

Chips: 3,424 | | | Re: Poker Chips going away? Harrah's to install AUTOMATED poker tables There is a card room just down the street from me that converted from 5 or 6 dealer / chips / real tables to the electronic table.
As much as I've tried to be, I'm NOT a fan of it.
Yes, less dealer error, and no tipping, you are correct. But it's also faster, thus more hands raked / hr. which is more player(s) money coming off the table and out of play.
There are also many issues with the game itself with electronic tables. For example: there is no dealer at the table, so what stops you (and I've seen it happen) from saying "I RAISE!!!" and then hitting the "Call" or "Fold" button on the screen? Nothing. And best of all, there isn't a dealer there to enforce the verbal action. So, throw verbal declarations out the window.
To me, as a player, it's like sitting at a table with 8 other people, who brought their laptops. |

Seriously, though, I just can't imagine driving more than an hour to a B&M casino to play electronic poker. Or flying to Las Vegas to play electronic poker. Why not just play from home? Oh, yeah, UIGEA.
It wouldn't surprise me to learn that Harrah's is planning to use these for the WSOP within the next couple of years. Not for the late stages of an event, of course, because of TV coverage, but for the early sessions in large events. I shudder at the very thought. This is not a prediction, just a comment that I wouldn't be surprised. |

I guess we no longer need chiptalk.
