The new batch of denominated Pharaoh's is on the old mold. Only the new non-denominated Pharaoh's are on the new mold. Ten mentioned this in an earlier thread.
I don't like the new mold (suits) because I don't like clay chips with a thin outer rim. They chip too easily and magnify any off-center mold problems when compressing the chips (the outer rim being wider on one side of the chip).

Cripes! I never thought of that either.
The thin outer rim of the NEW mold chips may be more prone to chipping off.
I wonder if anybody has seen that occur with the NEW mold chips yet.

Have you seen this actually happening? I wonder if this is an inherant design flaw as all the classic H&C Paulsons were all made this way. There are untold hundreds of thousands maybe even millions of chips made with the outer ring like that. I have two large full sets from Obsolete casinos like that and I don't see 1 chip in 1600 that remotely resembles what I think you are talking about.
I would be interested in seeing pictures of what you are talking about. If these chips are falling apart and warped as much as everyone says Paulson's QC has really taken a nose dive. I only have 14 chips on the new mold. 7 of the H&C shaped inlays and 7 of the Private Card Room HS Chips. None of mine are falling apart and none are warped so I guess I don't have a good reference point to go by.
