So Whats With Paulson?

I have been off the boards for a long time, only to come back to read all these negative posts about Paulsons new chips. I dont have any of the newer Paulsons but my Older TRADEMARK CLASSIC chips have held up wondefully through many tournaments.

With what I can gather it may very well be that the 2005 BONDS and the TRADMARK CLASSICS are the last GOOD paulson chips to be released to the public. I know there are a ton of those chips out there but it seems they are a better value because of the material used and the quality control being better on the older chips (2005).

Im acctually considering picking up about 650 - 750 of the 2005 BONDS now that I hear about the stacking issues and the chip material being changed.

Although there are still enough NYers out there (I SOLD ALL MINE OFF LONG AGO) But at $1.35 a chip for the $1s $5s $25s and $100s they may be the best cash set chips avaiable. (too bad about the $500s and 1Ks still being too high IMHO)

PS on the NYers front, anyone know where arconeltd came up with more chips, I thought he was sold out long ago.

Re: So Whats With Paulson?

Am I the only one who feels this way. Im surprised with all the talking or warped paulsons and stacking problems and the change in material there hasnt been a run on some of the older chips from 2005. (I know they made a ton of them) Apache has sold out of the CLASSICS though) I wonder when they get the new batch if they will have the same problems as the newer NATIONALS and PHAROAHS. Im especially interested if they too will be made from this NEWER MATERIAL, whatever it may be.

Re: So Whats With Paulson?

This issue has been and is being dealt with in other topics, so...

Btw, since when did the 'newer' Nationals have any problems? Last I heard they were fine, i.e. 'unwarped'. Also, I have seen no report on the new Pharaoh's yet.

Re: So Whats With Paulson?

Believe me the new Pharoahs will have the same problem, and I know there was at least one person aaying his NATIONALS were warped as well.

Plus it seems they have changed the compund used in the home chips.

The old Pharaoh's had the same problem too. I'm not touching any Paulson's until things get fixed...if they ever do. I think your right about the 2005 Bonds and Classics.

In some cases you can get casino chips for less than home chips. It doesn't pay to buy an expensive chip anymore unless you never resell them.

Re: So Whats With Paulson?

I don't like the fact that I can break the new Paulson shaped inlays in my hand. There is also the problem with the outer rim of the chip being thinner on one side of the chip. This will lead to premature chipping on the edge of the chip.

I can't help thinking that these chips were rushed to market. Lowering the quality of home chips is the same thing as raising prices.

I'm hoping that the protege chips do not have the same problems. If they don't this could start shifting the home market to Blue Chip Co. chips.

I didn't know you could break them in your hands, you surely can't break Pharoah's, Classics or Bonds like that. Overall less warping issues too.

I doubt the Protege's will have this issue. The market has already started to shift BC's way.

You are correct Sir!!! I can't break the chips you mentioned and I can't break the new NPS Paulson's, just the shaped inlays. It just seems like the material used for these chips is different than earlier Paulsons. The only other chips I have been able to break in my hand are ASM h-mold chips.
