Chips: 5,913 | | | How are we going to dye our white FCs? So I just got my 1000 white FCs to augment my other 1000 I've had for a couple years.
My plan is of course to dye them so of the colors I want before but couldn't get. Primarily pink so I can play a pink chip game, but also I've considered some other dayglo colors like lime green and light blue.
The problem is this: I live in a 800 sqft apartment in Boston. I don't have access to any workrooms, old stoves, or old driers. If I'm going to dye my chips I need to do it in my kitchen in a stainless steal pot without making a disaster or dyeing half of my apartment.
So how are you guys going to dye your chips? and how would you suggest me go about dyeing mine?
Obviously I don't want to be doing this 10 chips at a time, but I could tell by Smoore's first run that throwing them into a big pot won't turn out the best either.
Lets get some ideas going and see if the creative and industrious minds at CT can come up with something. |

I've thought about trying to find some kind of plastic or metal racks that could be stacked in a pot so that you could put single chips on a rack and then stack as many racks as possible into a pot. Not sure where I could get such a thing or how much it would cost. |

I guess I should state that one of my other hopes is to do this without purchasing to much excess stuff, as the whole point is to get some great feeling and sounding chips without paying too much to get them. (Oh and I like projects ) |

Higher than 80 C (something like 240 F)? If lower than that, you could just use a hot-water bath supplied from your stove. It'd take a lot of work, but you could get 1000s done at once!
How much does a (cheap) deep-frier cost? |

So you are talking about putting these in chip racks then into a pot or large vessil to dye these?? Hum... Not having luck with a visual with this one. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
