Best Option around $0.40/chip?

OK, I'm sure it's been asked many, many times. I have co-worker who's looking for chips and asked for my help. His budget is around $0.40/ chip and his only requirement is denoms.

I have labelled Nexgens so I gave him that option. Just wondering if their are any custom ceramics or hotstamped chips out there that will work in his budget?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Thanks for the links guys. The Montecito chips would be a great option. Unfortunately, he is married to the idea of having a $50 denom chip.

So, I think he's going to have to go with a custom like labelled Nexgens or a cheap hotstamp.

I absolutly see no reason for a $50 chip for any reason.
Reminds me of a nut here that thinks he is the poker tourney guru and yet after 2 years still uses $50 and $250 chips.
Talk about confusing.
I won't play at his place.

I agree with OC. Absolutely no reason for the $50, because it's so redundant compared to the $25.

I really think the "popularity" of the $50 stems from all the marketing of the labeled slug chips having it. And since slugged chips are "official casino weight, etc" then the denoms are perceived to be official too.

Re: Best Option around $0.40/chip?

I completely agree that there is no reason for the $50 chip and I told him just that. Unfortunately, his group plays with a 7000 starting stack and starts the blinds at 50/100. So, he wants to go with the $50 chip instead of the $25. He's co-worker and I've never played in his game. He just asked me if I knew anywhere to get a good deal on a 500pc 11.5g set of "clay" chips I couldn't rightfully let him run out and buy a set of glorified dice chips off Ebay.

Send him here, he'll get straigntened out.

As far as the $50 chip goes, sounds like it may be only used for a round or two. Could always pick up some of the NCV's for just the $50. If there is only one chip with no denom, it should be easy to remember.
