Chips: 113 | | | Both sets not an option!! Paulson's Just sayin that now cause I know how you guys work, and I know that would be the first post.
So my chip obsession started with WSOP replicas and and some faux clays, which consequently made me trade in my replicas for some Paulson Pharaoh's, which was a great move in my opinion. I'm definitly a clay guy.
I run a monthly tournament at my house, and next month we're mixing it up a little with a cash game. THIS CALLS FOR A NEW SET OF PAULSON'S!!
Herein lies my problem. I can't for the life of me make up my mind between a cash set of NPS or the Hot Stamps. I'm seriously 50-50 here and I might have to flip a coin to decide. Anybody have any extreme reasons why I should or shouldn't buy one of the sets. Thanks. |

I have NPS tourney set (100,500,1000 + Grey 5000)
I was going to complete my NPS set with a cash set but the Private Cardroom Hotstamps came out so I got a set for very low stakes cash (5p/10p) hence (5,25,100,500)
Here's my little summary of the two sets
Feel : PCR's feel great, I always thought the 2005 JB mold was better then the Pharoah/NPS mold
Stackability : NPS stack like nothing else... PCR's are just not as good (see the many posts on here)
Looks : NPS brought great new edge spots.. I think the higher values (25+) have the best spots. The PCR chips have great spots in the lower values especially the red 5 chip.
Value : NPS - Top price for top chips, PCR - Cheaper so you can buy more
Originality : NPS - New edge spots were a breakthrough away from the previous home paulson colors
PCR - First stamped "Home" Paulson
If you like big stacks... get NPS otherwise get PCR's
I think if you get PCR's and don't like them they will be easier to sell on here and then you can get the NPS set.
Just a thought

The Private Card Room hotstamps just can't be beat. They are the best Paulson Home set they have put out in a LONG time.
Good luck,

I have two sample sets of the NPCs and a 500-piece set of the PCRs. The PCRs were the first Paulson home chips I found worthy of an investment. One reason is the nicer mold, featuring the top hat and cane and card symbols, another is that I didn't have a hotstamped clay set yet. The edgespots of the PCRs are also in general better than those of the NPCs.
As has been said, the PCRs don't stack perfectly, but stacks of 20 are no problem at all.

But the hotstamps look a lot more vibrant, and I do like the mold better.
AAAAHH GRRRR! NPS it is, NO HS, NO NPS, hmmm, well thanks for the input. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
