Buying New Poker Chips

Hi all I am new to the forum.

I am in the process of buying a new set of chips. I currently have 600 of the ESPN Club 11.5G chips. I have not decided on custom or non-custom(?) chips but have been getting samples.

I have compresion solids and edge spot chips from PI and two chips from ASM. Next will be samples from BCC and probably the Desert Palms from the chip room. Also PI is sending me samples of their ceramics.

Does anyone know if the Nevada Jacks chips that 5stardeal has are the new slug(?)? I was going to get samples of the super diamonds, the NJ Skulls and NJ Desert Sands.

Any advice would be helpfull thank you.

Solidwoody

Re: Buying New Poker Chips

Welcome to the forum and here is a word of advice. It doesn't matter because if you stay in this forum you will own a set of ech and every type of chips there is. The only question is in which order. I went from ceramic and now getting custom clays.

Re: Buying New Poker Chips

Welcome to the forum.

I have found that you can get the highest quality, most unique chips at the best price by shopping the Market Place forum, M2M sales. Most of the chips folks sell are in good condition, and they are all beautiful, quality chips--you just have to find something that suits your taste. The members of the forum are honest and the nicest strangers you'll ever meet--so they're easy to work with. Before you buy, just spend a few weeks checking out what's for sale there. If nothing else, it will give you a good idea what to spend on chips when you buy.

Re: Buying New Poker Chips

There is a set of Mardi Gras Clays for sale in the Member to Member Sales section. The price is very good, and I believe the seller is willing to break up the set. As a former owner of Mardi Gras Clays myself (which I sold to fund the purchase of more chip sets), I can tell you they are beautiful chips that feel and sound great.

Good Luck!

Welcome to the forum SolidWoody.

It sounds like you're on the right track ... getting samples and all ... but also, if you haven't done so already, you'll need to do your research on all the chips and options out there. Go through all the chip reviews you can find, and after getting all the samples you need/want, you can make yourself a very informed decision.

p.s. - You don't get samples of the Super Diamonds ... (they're so inexpensive) you just buy a full massive set.

What chips are considered faux clays?

I noticed 5stardeal is offering 20% off so i am going to order some samples from them.

I just orderd samples of the PI Dragon chips and the chiprooms Desert Palms Casino and Desert Palms Pure Clays.

My biggest problem right now is that I don't know what I want.

Do ....or do not. There is no try. You must feel the chips flow through you. Only then will you be able to face the Group Buy. The future is difficult to see.......always poker chips is the future.

Re: Buying New Poker Chips

1. Ditto on the samples things.

2. How many do you need?

3. How much money can/will you spend?

4. Decide whether you like ceramic or clay chips. Clay all the way (and I don't mean Aiken).
