So I had a tourney at my place the other night. After a few of us busted out, I broke out the Paulsons for a cash game. A couple of the guys were saying how much they liked them, etc... I almost fell out of my chair lmao when one of them says, "Are these official 11.5 gram???"

Of course it was only a couple years ago where I'd have made a similar statement.

I have the same problem with some of the guys i play with. One guy was excited when he ordered some official 11.5 all clay chips from ebay- I advised him not too -he did and ended up with chips that are not even up to snuff with regular dice chips

i guess were just a bunch of chip snobs

On new years eve, we went to play poker at the house of one of my husband's golf buddies. The buddy asked us to bring cards, but said he had chips arranged.

I tossed a set of copags in my purse, and we went over. When I tossed the cards on the table, everyone there started oooing and ahing over the "fancy cards". My expectations for the chips were pretty low. Just then, his next door neighbour came in with a small case, and said he "thought he had some nice chips." My eyebrows went up, as I wasn't expecting much, and lo and behold, he opens up his case to reveal some paulsons hot stamped with his initials (!!!), in pristine condition. I said "Wow, I'm impressed - those are nice chips." He replied, "Yeah, I got them a few years ago before the Moneymaker boom. I think they're 11.5 grams."

Ain't marketing great?

While trying to sell all those dice chips that came with the cases I bought a few of the people that called asked if they were 11.5.
Of course I said yes and they said I will be right over to get them.
Of course when I hung up the phone I said "SUCKER" then did the happy dance.

LOL, I talked to a guy today and since he was a business man and we were discussing the subject I mentioned that I also had a company and that I sold poker chips on the Internet. It took quite a while for him to get the slightest idea what I was talking about. First, he thought that I was running some kind of online casino and started talking about some guy who killed himself because he had a gambling problem, then he thought that people bought chips from me to bring with them to the casino. Then I get the question - "What do you mean? If I buy chips from you, how do I play?". I explained that if he, for example, played poker with his friends he would need a set of chips and that those black jack tables etc at the local clubs all use these type of chips. He looked at me as if I was stupid, said "I have never played black jack..." and then changed the subject *LOL*
