i am thinking about making custon chips for my cash game( already have a tournament set) and was wondering what you guys think is the best looking cash chips out there today. This can inlude custon ones and ones from established casinos like the bellagio. directions to pictures of these chips would also be reallllly helpful, thanks!

I agree. If you're getting pre-made "fantasy" chips I'd definately lean you toward that direction as well.

My two best recommendations would be:

1. Blue Chip Desert Palms from The Chip Room: http://www.thechiproom.com/ (look under "Desert Palms Casino"). There is everything you would ever want from $0.25 and up.

2. Chipco Classics from Holdem Poker Chips: http://www.holdempokerchips.com/prod...p?prod=AYSET70. Everything you will find in the DP chips, but with a nickel and dime to boot.

What are your preferences in terms of chip composition? Price? Denominations vs. non-denomination? Hotstamp vs. inlays?

What is your typical cash game buy-in and blinds/antes?

Answers to these questions will undoubtedly garner you more meaningful responses.

That being said, the most meaningful thing that I can say to you is to answer the questions yourself, thereby narrowing things down a bit.

Then, go out and buy samples, lots and lots of samples..............................

What is the purpose of a $3 chip? Is it strictly used for a $1/$3 hold 'em cash game? I assume it is the same concept as having a $2 or $2.50 chip but I wanted to confirm my thinking

$3 chip is just used for the rake. Fills the rake box slower and keeps more chips on the table. Mo chips, mo action.
