Chips: 628 | | | $3 Chips for Play??? Just completed my cash Vineyard set, consisting of the Vineyard $3 chips.
Realistically, I do not see a use for a $3 chip. It did however, round off the T100 nicely, furthermore it looks cool as part of the set. The question is, shall I use them and include it in my cash games, or just leave it at home and keep it strictly, for the groups photos? Last time I used the following breakdown:
10 - $1
10 - $2
10 - $3
8 - $5
for T100 for up to 8 players.
Any thoughts. |

Any thoughts. | A $3 chip is good for a 3/6 game anyway. I'm going to break out my vineyards for the first time ever this weekend at a new years party. Using 40 $1, 20 $3 and 40 $5 which equals exactly $3 buy in for a 3/6 (cents) game. Plus it makes it easy for me to pass out 100 chips per person and keep track of them too.
After all, we will be drinking heavily so the most anyone can lose is 3 bucks. |

Chips: 482 | | | Re: $3 Chips for Play??? I have been contemplating this same question for my Paulson New Sonny's. I have $1, $5 and $25 chips. In the set there are also $2 and $3 chips but what good are they if you have $1's and $5's? The $2 chip is only good for a $2/$4 NL game or a $4/$8 Limit game, both of which are served just as well by $1 chips. Same goes for the $3 chip, $3/$6NL or $6/$12 Limit (which can be played equally as well with $1's and $5's). In addition the $2 and $3 chips are generally harder to find which doesn't help things as they only play well when they are by far and away the most dominate, if not only chip on the table.
I say hold onto them and only break them out for pics. If you try to incorporate them in your game it is just going to confuse things. Just my $.02 on the matter. Kick A$$ chips thou.

- Couga | I like the Vineyard $2 and $3, they really make the set, but so do the $20s and $100s... I just like having them around, it's like one big happy family. I just think that the $3 is the step kid, and that the family can still function with or with out them. |

When I use the Vineyards we usually distribute T100 for a $10 buy in (a 1:10) buy in. We just had an added step in the end to calculate the 10x factor. I have yet to use the Caesars chips, I would use the $1 Bellagios or the $1 Vineyards. The $3 Sonny's are also ones that I contemplate on using, again due to the odd number, but those too look like nice chips. |

Hey, those Rock Island chips you have off too the side look very familiar. Have you had a chance to use them in a game? |
