Chips: 4,623 | | | NOTICE: Sahara Hot Stamp Owners BW and I played in a tourny at the Sahara and I was totally shocked to see that they are using the EXACT SAME CHIPS!
The chips in play are extremely worn. So worn that they will not stand on edge and the gold in the hot stamp is no longer there. I imagine someone tried to "clean" them and washed the gold out.
The values are as follows.
Green - 25
White - 100
Black - 500
Red - 1000
The yellows are used in the cash game to mark missed blinds only.
I don't know what this means for the chips but I wanted to let everyone know these are LIVE CHIPS used in play. Don't get cute and try to put them in play. In fact I wouldn't even take them into the Sahara for any reason. Having counterfeit chips on your person is a felony in any casino.
Even though these are the real Paulsons, they may be considered counterfeit. I wouldn't want anyone to get nailed with a trumped up charge.
I don't know how this happened but the Sahara let a ton of chips leak.

Of course, when they were doing a color up, I swiped a white chip since I had 3. Still won the race off too!
Bottom line, when I got my samples from someone that bought a set, I compared them to the one I swiped -- different stamp. Similar, but different. |

There are two stamps in play. You probably have a Big Sahara logo on yours don't you?
The majority are the other though.

I'll buy some black ones from someone since I'm going to a tourney at the Sahara soon

All the chips I saw were fairly worn and really nasty with grime. They might get just a bit suspicious if all of a sudden someone pushes with all mint condition chips. "Hello? Mr. eye in the sky? Can you rewind a bit. ...uh huh, the guy with two racks of the mint red chips..." |

Man, I have 600 of the reds! Too bad I'm not dishonest.
Should we notify the Sahara that their tournament chips have been compromised?
After all, a lot have been sold on eBay (red chips!) which has made them available to the general public. Someone who knows their current use could have dishonest intentions.
Maybe it will prompt them to modernize their tournament line.

I can account for two 1K sets i've sold though. One set went accross the pond and the other went to a guy I work with. The other is in God knows whos hands. Plus Yeltzen has sold a few through ebay. But I pretty much know who else got these.
The ones in play are dirtier than Paris Hilton after a 5 hour spin cylce with 20 gallons of raw sewage.
