I ordered one of the 100k Casino Royale (CR) chips from play.com (cost £4.99 inc shipping) and I received what looks to be a full sample set plus a sample card from the CR pack. The card is jus a plastic coated paper thing, linen surface, poker size, regular index. Whatever. Moving on......
The chips are injection moulded plastic slugged chips that weigh in at around 14g. they feel heavy because they are heavy. Unfortunately I don't have much to compare them to in the plastic world, but they do seem to stack reasonably well. They probably stack better than the Matsui Zen's that I saw in Chicago, but don't feel quite as nice.
The inlay is as high a quality as I have seen on this type of chip. It has a fine textured finish, and is aligned to the pattern on the chip. The inlays on each side are aligned to each other in a spin-it-sideways type of way. I can never remember if that is coin or medal aligned. Simple inlay, just with 'Casino Royale' , the denom and a bit of filligree stuff. 'Keep it simple' I guess.
The colours are pretty good. Nice and strong, I particularly like the 500.
Edge spot progression is odd to say the least. 5 and 5k have 3 triple spots, 25 and 25k have 4 spots, 100 and 100k have 6 spots and 500 has 8 (now that I right this, I see the pattern, but it's still odd). The individual colours in the spots gets smaller as the number increases.
The edges have those mould ridges that you see on BR pros etc, and on a couple of the chips there is a little piece of waste left. You can see this on a couple of the chips in the scan if you view it at full size. The material is pretty soft.
Sound is what you would expect, pretty high, but without too much of the ring that you get with some slugs.
Overall - Its a good quality slugged plastic chip.
Clearly
so...........
