Just started my collection

I just received my shipment of Lucky Bees, to which I will add custom labels. I need some words of encouragement. I received sample sets of Deadwoods, Paulson JBs, Rounders and NJs. I have been shuffling the Deadwoods and JBs for several days and they feel great. Now I just started shuffling the Bees and wow is there a difference (in favor of the Deadwoods and JBs, of course). I do not regret my Bees purchase....I do not WANT to regret my Bees purchase.
As a starter set, I couldn't justify spending a boat load of dough for ASMs at this point, and I couldn't go wrong with $0.18/chip from Jason for the Bees.
I guess this means I am in for an expensive 2007.

BTW: I like the ceramics also and bought a set of Tikis from BRpro.

Well, you've got one of the best injection mold chips, and a real nice ceramic.
All you need now is a really nice compression molded clay set and you're good to go (for a while)

Sounds like me. If you want to know the future...

I started off with several sample sets (clay, ceramic, and various injection-molded chips) before purchasing 750 hot-stamped bees in October 2005. Then bought another 300 bees in early 2006, then another 400 bees later in spring 2006 (kept upgrading my tourney set so now it's good for 30 players... and still have a usable cash set aside from the tourney set). Then finally sprung for 750 Samurai Palace chips in July 2006 - AND THEN FOUND CHIPTALK! ... got another 300 Samurais in trades, etc., then got 300 Paulson cherries, then 100 hot-stamped Paulsons, then another 150 or so cherries... all from CTers... also traded for some neoprene table tops, bought WAY more plastic cards than I should need in a lifetime (in fact, I've been trading them away and giving them as birthday/Christmas gifts), am looking at tables (should probably get a house first though), etc., etc., etc. Oh, and I've put in some time designing custom neoprene toppers even though I already bought/traded for as many as I really *need*. ... Oh, and did I mention my fiancee has been threatening me re: how much time I spend on chiptalk... and not without good reason, I might add. But dang is it ever addictive...

Basically, I'm just a year ahead of you (but you seem to have already gone the ceramics route...)

Oh, and if you're wondering, the Bees stay at work for tournaments in my department. The Samurais never leave home. And the cherries... well, my fiancee doesn't know about them (they're currently at work), but they'll probably make it home eventually - once I get them labelled...

Re: Just started my collection

Just showed my wife my Nexgens....."Why do you need so many?"
More are coming, babe. I've been so wrapped up in this, I think I forgot how to play poker.
As for spending time on CT, I am eating dinner with my wife and on CT.

Your killing me... If the wife finds out I spent almost 1k on chips in a week, she will kick me out.
Tell you what, I am playing in a $200 tourney tomorrow night. The game is going to be a little light since we just played 2 weeks ago but top prize should be 2k. If I place 3rd, I will seriously consider, no joke. Top 2 and I buy them. For the record, I do better every time I play and I made the final table the first time I played. with this group.

If that's the case, good luck to you and me- By the way, I see you've already found the only way to feed your obsession without having your wife divorce you. Only buy chips out of your poker bankroll! Works for me!
