The bad news is they are most likely hot stamped with the starburst stamp. I'll post some pics as soon as they show up. |
I'd bet a nickel that these are indeed Argosy hot stamps. I have seen a couple of them and I like them a lot.
I'm going to invoke the power of Jim "Gaming Ore" Follis and give you some background on the chips.
These chips were designed with the incorrect name on the chip. Indiana Gaming Commission demands that the business name be on the checks. However, the designers fouled up and made the checks with the name "Argosy". Argosy is the name of the boat, not the name of the company.
The business name is Indiana Gaming Company. That meant that all the checks had to be destroyed, hotstamped. After they were stamped they were offered via the Pualson retail stores.
I live very close to the Argosy and it is the first casino gambling expierience i've had. That being said, I'd be happy to make some interesting trades for them.
