Paulson PNY or Custom Ceramics

Well, ever since dear Deuce sent me 2 Venetian Poker Room Chips, I have been obsessed with the design.

I got into the President New Yorker GB and ordered 400 Chips (which Deuce also sent me a chip of each! )

But now I got into thinking if I should sell those PNY's and instead get me a Custom Ceramic Set of those Venetian Replicas... *sigh*

The PNY's are great. And quality-wise they are superior to ceramics... but I just like the Venetian Design much more.

I don't know what to do right now. Both are not an option, my wife would kill me... and shipping Liberator Shapes to germany would be overkill

What to do?

Re: Paulson PNY or Custom Ceramics

Your Venetian design is awesome. For me it is a decision between a custom chip with a design I really like or the authenticity of a casino made Paulson.

I would keep the PNYs only because ceramics are IMO just common eventhough your design is really really good.

Re: Paulson PNY or Custom Ceramics

I would stick with the PNYs simply because you may never be able to get some again. You can order up some custom ceramics anytime you want (or when the wife will allow it) but the PNY may not be around again.

Thats a good argument... never thought of it that way.

Re: Paulson PNY or Custom Ceramics

I would definitely go with the PNYs primarily because replica/knockoff chips aren't my thing and secondly because I have a clay preference.

Keep the PNY's for now. I doubt you will ever be able to have the exact edgespot/chip color combos you have selected, but there are going to be some more options available in the clay market very soon.
Trust me.

Hmm... Clays with Giant Inlay.

That would be nice...

I really did the Fell & Sound of Clay, thats why it is so hard for me... well, after reading all this, not THAT hard. The Venetians will have to wait for a bit I guess...

Re: Paulson PNY or Custom Ceramics

Snow, I would lean the other direction on this. In the end the only chips you'd be likely to keep long term anyway are your custom chips.

I back up what I'm saying with my actions too, because I personally just made a deal trading my PNY's for a poker table.
