I am not gonna argue with you and Nutzy, I respect you both so lets just agree to disagree.

It's all good...no hard feelings here.

Re: New clay chips?
Are these the same chips (rather same material/production) as the new PI desert palms chips?
Cheers

I don’t doubt they are nice. I wouldn’t mind having some samples myself to be honest. Hell, I'm not even saying they don’t feel, sound and wear like clays (I don’t know) but that doesn’t mean they are clay chips and that doesn’t mean they should be called authentic clay chips because its a misrepresentation and negates one of the primary purposes of a place like chiptalk which is to educate others on the differences in quality and characteristics so people can make a informed decision before investing hundreds if not thousands of dollars. If someone sees these, understands what they are and likes the way they look then by all means, buy some, buy em all for all I care but they should know exactly what they're getting. And again, I'm not taking away from anything Joe is doing, I don’t even know the man, and as you've said he has made some good contributions in the way of price and availability of products however, clearly the chips being sold at that link are attempts at reproducing existing chips, BlueChips James Bonds or Paulsons, either way…

I think the question is, "what really is a clay chip". Do you judge a clay chip by hows its made or by its composition? I think Paulson, ASM and Bluechip use similiar materials for the chips, just use a different, albeit more expensive process for actually making the chips...compression molding. I "think", China uses the same materials...they just found another way to create the chips via injection molding.
Having handled samples of Joe's chips, these are pretty damn close to compression molded chips and I honestly think they will be a huge hit.

You are missing the point he is just falling short of stealing someone elses design.
Heck I don't even think it is falling short.

How can you be so sure it is Joe that is selling those?
Edit: On another Note:
I cannot understand that some just won't see the sponsors are here to make business, but on a second note, offer their help & better prices to CT-Members. Joe got family, and he surely will try to make money with his business. Would you do otherwise?
I think Joe has done a LOT for the Community here. I won't comment on any previous things that happened here, because I wasn't here at that time, but I would think he does an awesome support for the Community NOW, and thats what counts IMO.

I'm asking this question as an observer, and am *not* defending joe in any way. Remember, I was one of the two people that got the orig. samples from Sun Fly way back at 22 cents / each and made initial contact with them. So I know the history of SF, and his image in this forum quite well.
My question is: Why is it that in this case, Joe is being singled out for stealing someone else's design when CT as a community and a collective group of input to design, develop and create the "Bellagio" "replicas" is not one in the same as stealing someone else's design? (or the WSOP replicas for example, or NJ with the CB GB).
Again, I'm not defending Joe, nor do I agree / disagree with any side on this. I see both sides have equal merit. I just don't know what makes them different.
