Chips: 5,690 | | | Sambuca + Clays = BAD **PICS ADDED OCT6** Last night at our house, we held a No Limit tourney for the first time in a few weeks (that's a long time, our friends are all compulsive gamblers.) The following discussion endused as my husband and I were sitting at the table and I was counting out the chips for the tourney.
Relevant background: I bought him a set of 1000 custom clays from ASM for his birthday. It was this gift that brought me to CT. I did this by grinding out enough cash at 3/6 to buy them without his knowlege. He got a very nice set of 3D14's. The last time the chips were used was at a Bachelor Party/weekend in Tahoe.
Me: "A bunch of these are stuck together." Him: "Oh yeah? That's weird." "A couple are warped. Maybe it's from leaving them in the car when you went to the bachelor party." "Hmmm."
"Check this one out, it's really bad."
"Do you think leaving them in the car will warp them?" "Yeah I think so. That's what I've heard. What else could it be?" (Rhetorical question, I wasn't really expecting an answer.)
"There might have been another reason." "Really?"
"I may have spilled some Sambuca. I blame Brad." "You didn't clean it up?"
"We were really drunk! And it's Brad's fault I spilled it anyway." "How was it Brad's fault?" "He didn't drink his! I thought his glass was empty." As any good wife should, I didn't pursue the story any further. Now, I don't really blame the drunk part, or the spillling part, but perhaps a lack of forethought. The groom has a set of Soprano's - should have brought those! Never mind the not owning up to it.
When I get home I'll take some pics of the effects.
As an added note, a whole bunch of the inlays came off of the ones that were stuck together. ***PICS ADDED OCT 6***

Most of the chips were somewhat stuck, but I couldn't twist or break apart 4 doublets. I had to pry them apart with an exacto knife, which left a small amount of damage. Damage5.jpg
See my microwave thread for my attempts at fixing.

This is the reason I have FCs. My custom set of ASMs never leave my home, ever. I will take my custom ceramics or FCs or my Nexgen set, but never my ASMs.
You can likely get replacements for any that are damaged. If I remember right, there is no minimum on reordering chips that are on file with ASM. Just buy another 10-20 of each denom to cover the damaged ones.
Sorry to hear about the chips though, it breaks my heart |

Chips: 444 | | | Re: Sambuca + Clays = BAD Should the inlays do that? Peel off if they get splashed (or no doubt drowned) in sambuca? Don't get me wrong, bad husband , but should it have happened? |

Chips: 507 | | | Re: Sambuca + Clays = BAD That is a definite bummer. But there is hope. There was a thread on here earlier this week about restoring warped chips to their previous glory. I'll see if I can find it.
