if i'm looking at a 400 or 500 chip set for my 8-10 person game... what breakdowns should i get? i know getting tons of denoms is kinda looked down upon, but i'm definitely getting at least 10 of each just to have for the sake of looking at! thanks for any advice. |

Great first post, and you are the 4,000th member to boot!
I suggest using the search function and looking in the "Home Game Advice -Chip Breakdowns" section to find examples of sets that others have used in similar situations.
Your set should probably have a majority of the chips consisting of the bottom two denominations (.25 and 1.00). Those will be the "workhorses" of your set.
Get as many $5 (and $25?) as you will need to cover the amount that you typically have in play, and keep in mind that the NCV chip can be used to add flexibility to your set. For example, instead of .25 chips, you could get NCV and use them as .25 in a .25/.50 game (would need a lot); or as .50 in a .50/1.00 game; or as $2 in a 1/2 game.
