Forget the in play and just jump all over this offer....this chip design competition has been going on here at chiptalk for many many months.

OH, one more thing. Welcome to chiptalk. Leave your wallet at the door.

Re: sidepot.com

My thoughts are that you need to check out the Protege. Same mold, same maker, but oh such much nicer.

OK, I just looked at the in play chips on sidepots website.

This is a no brainer. The protege chips are less expensive and kick the crap out of the in play. It's not even a close contest.

Shaped punched inlays, the best looking graphic on the inlay, edge spots, and I could go on for hours.

Welcome to ChipTalk ... Right now, I think you should definitely be looking into the Protege chips FIRST ... but to answer your question, here's a thread properly entitled "How Does Everyone Feel About Inplay Clay Chips".

Jello's link should answer most or all of your questions. If not just post specific questions and I am sure someone will answer you, or a whole bunch of people (they might even give the same answer ).

I have some inplay chip samples made using the new 10g materials that are going to b used for the Protege chips. I am very impressed by them and have already purchased a set of Protege's (but they aren't here yet ). Nice clay chips, and the design work is fantastic thanks to various CT members including Magnus who designed the inlay.

I can't comment on the 9 gram inplay chips and like the majority recommend you go with Protege's. Sidepot also has a return policy in case you don't like them.

Hope this helps and welcome to CT.

Re: sidepot.com

I must say that I'm a big fan of the in-plays. I just placed an order for 500 which will be my first set of chips. I have compared these to Paulsons, TR Kings others from Sidepot and many composite's but felt that the In-Plays were nicest.

I love the mold, but feel that the in-lays could be improved. The weight has increased to almost 10g since they were released making them feel much better. The thing I like most is the colour combinations. The best looking ones are from $5 and up IMHO.

Each to their own I guess.
