I asked Charlie. His dad, Paul Endy Sr. owned the company for many years. His dad told him it stood for Teddy Roosevelt.

Funny, that was the first thing that jumped to my mind also. I had no reason to think it was true though so I didn't say anything.

Great minds think alike.

Plenty of people, me included, were definitely going to order a set, but not just yet.....later.

Then, just as you pull the trigger, all gone.

Re: Just curious

Yeah - I'd always pictured myself ordering a nice big set of customs from TR King whenever I became independently wealthy (it's nice to know that this probably never would've actually happened!).

It makes me glad that I have a decent collection of Casbah Clubs.

I think it's interesting that a company would throw a president's initials in their company name. They must've had some real respect for the man. ... Or they just thought it sounded cool.

I mean, today, companies spend tons of money on research and consultants to develop names that will evoke the right emotions or have the exact right connotations. And yet certain, globally known companies, have existed for years on names that are completely random (for instance: the founder of Kodak simply liked the letter "k" and began writing down a bunch of made up words that used a "k" until he wrote one he liked).
