Chips: 245 | | | Projection on the lower PNY chip values in the future Ok, so I've just recently started looking into chips. I got into the group buy on the Paulson New Yorkers. I bought a set that I intended to use for 300 BB heads up matches (100 - $1, 100 - $5 and 24 - $25). Shipping is the same regardless for x - 700.
I'm thinking about adding a rack of each 1, 5, 25P, 25S. I think I'm getting a good price even needing to pay the paypal fees ~$662 for 632 chips (1.05 per) in case I decide that I like them and want to have some kind of a cash game with them, $25 for quarters, $5 for 50 cents or for value.
I guess what I'm asking is the likelihood that the chips will hold there value relatively well based on the history of other 'real' casino chips? I know that if I use them, they will decline. Essentially, I'd be buying 400 for reserve in case. Money isn't super tight right now, but it's not growing on trees either. Stupid suckouts.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. |

It would be interesting to compare the number of PNYs to the number of Vineyards or Crystal Parks or Dunes chips out there.

Chips: 245 | | | Re: Projection on the lower PNY chip values in the future Yeah, it's more a question of whether they will pretty much hold value.
I really don't want to lose 15% or so on a chip purchase within a year or so due to the seeming abundance of the chips becoming available. I think I read something about the Pharaohs (or a similar chip) flooding the market a bit lately as well significantly reducing demand. |

Chips: 313 | | | Re: Projection on the lower PNY chip values in the future i think the lower denoms will stay about the same price. the harder to come by denoms will probably go up since folks that own the lower denoms will probably want the other ones for whatever reason. so 2.50, 20, 500 pri, 500 sec, 1000 pri, and 1000 sec. its getting pretty hard to come by, folks arent selling any of these denoms in large quantities. although a few people could just be hording a bunch of chips waiting to corner the market when the demand drives prices up. watch what happens when everyone in the group buy gets their chips...im sure the demand for these will peak. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
