Anyone had any luck buying 500 chips or more from a Vegas casino?

I've already got a nice set of 1400 faux clays for a cheap-o tournament set. I've also got a 500-chip set of Modern Clays (Blue Chip) and a 500-chip set of the National Poker Series by Paulson, but the denoms are all wrong for a 1-2 NL cash game - which is what I need.

I would like to buy 500 or more chips from a Vegas casino in order to fill this need, but has anyone had any luck in doing so. I'd like to just walk into the casino of my choice and pay face value for 400 $1 chips and 100 $5 chips in new-good condition. Is that realistic or am I just dreaming?

I would do 100 at a time. Get a 100 and come back in a few hours and get 100 more, and so on...

why would you spend $900 on chips? Why not just buy some Paulson NY's?

I doubt they will sell you 500 chips right then and there, Might have to buy a few every once in a while to get them. But its worth a shot.

To have casino quality clays. To be different. To have the option of returning them for a 100% refund at any time. Because you only live once.

Actually, I could just buy more $1's and be just as happy. Maybe pick up some starbursts to use as fractionals, as well.

Agreed.

Ive asked for a rack of $1s..and casually strolled out, rack included!

You might consider bringing in a plastic grocery bag (or the like) in your pocket, as you can use it to conceal the chips on your way out, if it'll make you feel more comfortable.

I prefer to just walk right out with a smile!

Hotel Room...

I would buy a rack of 1.00 chips and then head to the room... then go back down... buy another rack at a different cage... and then repeat the process...

Why would they not want to sell you chips??? It is free money for them... I am sure they are not paying 90 cents a chip to get them done...

That was my thinking. I'm sure their costs are such that any chips you buy that you do not cash out are being sold to you at a profit (even $1 chips). Fractionals, on the other hand, cost more than face value to produce -which is why many casinos don't use them anymore.

Which casino chips are you thinking about?

It's easy to do when you take them from the poker room to your room. You just need to be playing smaller stakes to get $1's and $5's.

Now that I purchased the PNY chips for my cash game, I am going to return all of my Wynn chips to the casino.
