Need info on the Casino (if any) these chips came from

I trying to catch up on cataloging some of my recently aquired collector chips (really backed up) and I need info on these Paulson Cherries. I got these as a bonus in a trade I did with another CT/HPT member.

From what I can find these are from a European Casino (Cherry Casino) and are Roulette chips. I just need basic casino info (location, open/closed etc). Can anyone help me out?

Thanks

Ranman

Re: Need info on the Casino (if any) these chips came from

I've found a bit of info, and have tried to translate as best I could. http://www.knutsson.se/index.php?page_id=17 (site in Swedish)

1972 - Cherryföretagen AB (Cherry businesses, inc) is established through a merger of AB (the rough equivalent of .inc) Restaurang Rouletter (restaurant roulettes), AB Roulett konsult and Spelautomater (gambling machines)

2004-06-01 The oldest gambling business in Sweden, Knutsson Casino AB (established 1959) merge with Cherryföretagen AB.

Here's a bit of info on Knutssonbolagen (Wilson can tell you MUCH more, it's her field) I found in English: http://www.knutsson.se/index.php?pag...9e465568845e66

As far as I know, Cherry was never a Casino per se; they furnish dealers and casino equiment to restaurants, ships and such. Sort of a casino-for-hire. They are still in business, retaining their name after the merger with Knutssonbolagen, they just changed their rack... I have no idea what their new chips are like. There is a website, cherry.se , but I can't find any info in English, sorry there.
This is confusing. Seems that they've changed names to Betsson AB, while the maritime and restaurant casino parts retain the Cherry name: http://www.betsson.se/cherry_en/ (in English, thank god).

I actually contemplated getting a job as a dealer with them a while back. Too short hours though (weekend evenings only) for me.

Anyway, best I could do on short notice.

Re: Need info on the Casino (if any) these chips came from

Cherry is the largest casino company in Sweden. They are however moving away from the restaurant gambling business and concentrating more and more on online gambling. They are the ones behind http://www.betsson.com and http://www.cherrycasino.com

If you need any more information let me know.

Thanks for the great info and fast responses. Sent a little positive rep your way with my puny 1 hammer .

So I guess its safe to say that these chips are/were used in Various gamblingextablishments then, and not in one specifically called Cherry.

Thanks much.

Thank you very much Ranman

You are correct. The chips were used in various places. Mostly in Stockholm and Gothenburg I would guess.
