Chips: 5,286 | | | Are chip preferences cyclical? I have a question for everyone...
Do you find that your preferences for chips run in a cycle?
I mean, when I first started this love affair, I loved th&c - regardless of color and edgespot combo's, couldn't understand anyone liking anything else, especially the "Cheap" chips used by the Luxor (chipco) and Stardust (BJ). Hot stamps were cheap too, I needed a cool inlay. , then I thought the graphics capability of ceramics were the greatest, then the feel of BJ just got me hooked.
After ordering faux clays and joining the nation, I realized how cool a solid color chip is, and how much cooler it would be with a great hotstamp.

Chips: 102 | | | Re: Are chip preferences cyclical? I agree with everything on this tread so far. One day I like clay blanks the next day inlayed clay the third day hotstamped blanks. I guess I'll have to own everything eventually. |

So many chips, so little money(and time).....
FYI - I have custom Chipco's, Pharaoh's, and soon to have custom ASM's, all in big enough sets to run a 40 person tourney - it'll be a heck of a decision come game time each month.....
And yes, I'm looking for more.....help.....me.......

Chips: 64 | | | Re: Are chip preferences cyclical? I think my preferences are cyclical to some extent. This is a good reason to have multiple sets of different types of chips. It wasn't too long ago that I got my first expensive set -- JB 2005s. There wasn't room enough for any other chips, these were so good. Now, I like to play occasionally with Chipcos, All-Ins, and even cheap plastic Unicorns. Mix things up. |

I'm going to buy a Paulson set ... at first I didn't really like ceramics, but I'll give 'em a chance now ... ehhh, those hot stamped clays looks pretty cool ... Faux's are so cheap, how can I NOT get a few? ... ooh, those new Paulsons are really cool ... new ceramic manufacturers? Let me get a few of those for a travel set ... I think it's time to get a custom clay set ... OOH! There's another NEW Paulson set! ... I can't live with just ONE custom set, maybe I should get a custom ceramic set while I'm at it ... you know what I'm missing? A small heads up set, maybe I can do labeled Nexgens ...
