Chips: 196 | | | Solid Hotstamped chips from "thechiproom" discussion We will have to wait for Jim for official word for what is available to us and other specifics, but didn't want to keep taking over the "coming soon" thread.
Discuss here what we want from a solid hotstamped chip.
I assume we want it on the cheap chinese chips for an awesome price.
I spoke with Jim via PM and he said he has some sort of custom mold he is working on for custom orders. Depending on what that looks like, perhaps we would design or own hotstamp. Maybe something simple like a 'fun nite-like' tournament stamp, or something that we pool together and design and vote on.
I would like to see both subdued and dayglo colors, dayglo if I had to choose.
Video from Nugzy showing of sound of these chips: http://www.streamdump.com/?7b7257 We could also use the Desert Palms logo, which may be the best/cheapest way to go. Something like: Or if Jim will allow we could create a simple text based hotstamp, for example something that says "Desert Palms (Denom and/or NCV) Las Vegas, NV" (Think the Sahara tourney chips that were just floating around on CT)
Something like:
Just get some thoughts out here and I will direct Jim here.

Chips: 223 | | | Re: Solid Hotstamped chips from "thechiproom" discussion looking at the other thread, the desert palms hotstamp and mold would work nicely.
Just need to get the right colors and denoms. |

Do you guys think we should go with the stamp pictured in the first post, or do you guys think we should create a simple text based hotstamp, for example something that says "Desert Palms (Denom and/or NCV) Las Vegas, NV"

Chips: 22 | | | Re: Solid Hotstamped chips from "thechiproom" discussion I’m definitely interested in solid hot-stamps. Can they do a custom stamp, or would this have to be “Desert Palms” all the way?
I shall stay tuned to see how things develop. |

Chips: 11,925 | | | Re: Solid Hotstamped chips from "thechiproom" discussion I like this idea a lot. However, I feel that I have to stir the pot a little bit and ask if these chips are really clay. It looks to me from all the pics posted in jim's merchant threads, that these chips are injection molded plastic. Perhaps a denser material than dice chips but still plastic nonetheless (especially at the price). Has anyone seen one in person?
I'd love to get a set of hot stamped solids, so this seems like a great deal, I just want to know more specifics.

I shall stay tuned to see how things develop. | From what I understood from my few PM's with Jim, a custom hotstamp is a defitie possiblity. However, I believe our mold choices will be pretty limited, so incorporating "Desert Palms" in some way only makes sense if it will say the same in the mold.
My preference would be a simple tourney style stamp incorporating the "Desert Palms" name (something like the fun nite chips).
