Chips: 471 | | | Chip case alternatives to standard aluminum, etc... I'm completing my Paulson set and looking for a 500 chip case worthy of housing them, but all I can find are the standards:
1) Boring, old, cheap aluminum or vinyl.
2) Wooden carrying cases.
3) Acrylic birdcages (this is the best I can find so far.)
Are there any alternatives out there?
I searched this forum but didn't find anything that caught my eye...

Looks like they sold out of the 500 chip cases, but if you search pricegrabber.com, you should be able to locate more.
I bought three 500 chip cases and three 400 chip cases, and I like them a lot.
I bought mine when they were on sale around July 4. Saved about $2-$3 more on each case.
They're lighter in weight and have smaller dimension.
They're quite durable with plastic rails and coverings on the inside. And there is styrofoam cushioning in each row to cushion the chips.
Imagine a thick padded soft case for a travelling guitar, cello, or expensive tennis racquet, and that's what it's like.
I worry less about them banging around inside the car trunk than I would with an aluminum chip case. |

develvjd have you seen the metal birdcages? May be an option... never mind just reread and you have 500 chips. Either way something to look at |

I keep most of my chips in 600-ct acrylic bird cages. These are my favorite chip storage devices, but I wouldn't travel w/ these, either. I have a few aluminum cases for chips I take outside the house. This has worked fine for me so far. |

I searched this forum but didn't find anything that caught my eye... | Did you look in the Reviews section, under Poker Gear Reviews? There are a bunch of storage options there - from a Pelican case to a customized tool case, and on down to more standard, cheaper stuff too. |
