Probably an easy question, but Why Faux clay over Super diamond?
Although the FC Nation has me 90% sure that I want faux clay, I've seen reviews that say Super Diamond 9 gram chips are the best value for chips in the 6 cent range. Can anyone that has handled both types of chip give a brief comparison of the two makes? Also, two questions regarding the availability of faux clay chips:
If you recently got your hands on orange faux clays where did you buy them? and has anyone heard of any plans to start manufacturing faux clays again? If not maybe FC Nation will help spark enough interest for a startup.
Re: Probably an easy question, but Why Faux clay over Super diamond?
super diamonds are lighter, slicker, and don't stack anywhere near as well, and don't take labels as well..
My first chips were 1000 super diamonds, and every now and then I slam my head against a wall for not spending the .01 extra per chip to get faux clay instead.
The only new faux clay that may be made are the ones by palm imports if he ever gets around to it.

Agreed...One of the local casinos here uses super diamonds (hotstamped) as their tourney set...I really dislike them...as the tourney breaks down to 2 tables, you notice the recurring chip spilling as players attempt to bet...awful...my experience with faux clay are more limited, but have been playing with the ones that have arrived and they stack like champs...

The faux clay are a little bit textured, like some Blue Chip inlays, which cuts down on the slipperiness factor. They are also (roughly) the same weight as clay chips and sound like clay to boot.

just got my samples of faux clay yesterday because of all the ruckus on this site about them.
let me tell you, get them. i ordered 100 of them and couldn't be happier. stacked all 100 on top of each other, and they didn't even budge. granted, they aren't the prettiest chip in the world, but they are what everybody is bragging about. i'll be ordering at least 500 more for a set.
.....now if i could only get my hands on some yellows.....
