Chips: 150 | | Pokerchip Advise The link below is a link to my current set of chips. They are "ghetto" and definently need a new set. Please send/post recommendations for a set between the costrange of $50-$300 for ~500 chips. Ceramic, Clay, Composite, 13.5g, 11.5g, 10g, 9g, 8.5g, etc. What does everyone prefer for chip type and the weight? Designs? denoms (ie. 1,5, 25, 50, or 25, 50, 100, 1000, 5000, 10000) if any? Even though I have been playing poker for quite a few years, when I bought the chips last year, I didnt know a whole lot about the quality, variety, differences and have been learning a bit about them in last year. These 11.5g composites with the metal inserts are straight A ES ES. The feel is nothing even NEAR a pokerroom at most casinos/tourneys I have played) Have read the poker reviews and there are so many brands, types, weights that are out there its really hard to make a good decision.
Thanks in advance for all advice! |

Take some time to read the reviews on the site -----> HERE
Everyone will have a different opinion on their favorite chips. The best advice is to get samples and choose for yourself.
Good Luck - Matthew

Since finding chiptalk, my taste in poker chips has gone through a progression. Fortunately for me, I couldn't afford to indulge my different interests right away. By the time I finally got a Christmas bonus (and permission) to spend on chips, I had pretty much decided on what I liked best.
I spent a lot of time scanning the group buy and custom chip forums. I agree with Matthew and others who recommend you buy some samples. You might checkout the Marketplace forum, because members frequently sell sample sets. Or you could post in the "Want to buy" forum that you're interested in sample sets. You'll save a lot of money this way.

Chips: 150 | | | Re: Pokerchip Advise I have read a few reviews, but like mentioned there are just sooooooo many options out there. There has to be a majority feel on at least a top 10 options as far as manuf, weight, type so that I can get a few samples of those and get a feel for them and choose from there. If not and that is the only way to read 1000s of reviews and get sample chips from all, then so be it I will. Def. need to replace the CRAP I have now :P |

ASM
Chipco
Those in no particular order are what most people will say are the three best options, available. But you are going to need ~ $1 per chip to buy them new.
ASMs can be had for as little as $.50 each for 500 chips.
I've seen Paulson Homes for as little as $.87 but I think you'll need to buy A LOT for that price.
Chipcos also for about $.90 and up for non customs and it's over $1 each for customs. |

These are beautiful chips for the price. If you stay on chiptalk, you'll end up getting something this quality anyway. |
