I decided to grind a 1000 piece set of NexGens from PokerSavvy and label them with the Palms-style labels. I have gotten used to playing with dice and suited chips, but are NexGens any better? Do they have the same slipperiness and sound of dices and suiteds, or is it any better?

Many people like Nexgen's and almost everyone will agree they are at least a step up from dice chips; however, you may want to check out some of the chip reviews our members have done, here: http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/poker-chip-reviews/

I know there is a Nexgen review in there and you might want to pay attention to the Faux Clay review as well - these are about half the price of Nexgen's and almost all Chiptalk members (if not all, an overwhelming majority) will tell you they are the very best of the "cheap" chips out there. I have a little over 400 of them myself and I think they handle, stack, play, and sound better than the Nexgen's. Nexgen's will probably win out in the looks department, but Faux's are probably a better playing chip.

Partially it depends on your dice chips as some are of better quality than others.

In general, yes but it also depends on which Nexgens you are looking at as they very in feel and quality also. IMHO, the LV series feels and sounds better than the River or Lucky Bee's.

Get samples and decide for your self.

Get a few samples of any and each chip you are interested in so you can judge for yourself first hand.

I'm considering getting samples, altough the price for the samples shipped to here is pretty high (price gets doubled because of the delivery costs ), so i'm looking to make a decision based on comments.

This is completely OT, but is it legally OK to make a Palms replica with the Palms name and the slogan? I'm considering to make that kind of a label and also buying a Palms dealer button+a few decks of Palms cards.

Dice suck - Nexgen are ok.

Nexgens are softer, less slippery and stack better.

Faux Clay are the best cheap chips - Nexgens are good for the money.

Please don't even bother with Dice.

Nexgens are ok, but they don't have a fan club or a site devoted to them. Faux Clays are the best value out there right now. With the money you save, you could even buy some Copags and beer for the game.
