has anybody else noticed that the new yorkers get slick once they have been handled for a little bit.i got mine less than 1 week ago and i have been shuffling a stack of 20.i noticed that once the chalk and dust was removed since they were brand new they became very slick(like composite chips).they are not slick to the touch of the hand at all its just once you put them back in a stack they seem to slide all over each other very easily and sometimes becomes hard to keep a stack straight or even count them out because they slide off of each other very easily(like composite chips).i know that they will get slick after use but i havent even used them.i have shuffled them for less than 1 week for maybe 2 hours a day while playing online.i have never felt chips that were this slick so fast.i thought maybe its because there isnt very much clay on these chips.there is mostly inlay so there isnt much clay to grip onto each other to get them to stick to each other so they slide around.i dont know though.give me some feedback
i was just wondering if anybody else has noticed this.let me know what you guys think about this.or what you think the cause might be.

I think that is the one negative of the grand inlay.
I noticed the same problem as I just received some NYers as well.....there had to be at least one negative about these chips, right? I decided to just break out some other chips when I get the urge to shuffle.

Bingo - I believe you hit the nail on the head with this comment Josh - I noticed that chips with the grand inlay no matter what brand have a much slicker feel to them. Perhaps if the inlay was textured it would make a difference - but most grand inlay chips I have all have smooth inlays.

Isn't that a really big issue when it comes to a good playable chip? I thought that was one of things I hated most about composite chips.

Ok but there's certainly a difference in quality and stackability from a Paulson and a 11.5g slug. You can only stack the composite slugs like 10 high before they fall over.

i'm not a fan of the grand inlays for this very reason. i used to have a vineyard cash game set that i got rid of because i hated the way they stacked, and also have a tough time in the cash games at foxwoods because of their slippery (but awesome looking) $2 chips.

Sounds like Vineyards and New Yorkers are better for collecting than to play with. Give me an original TH&C any day.
