Ever seen a chip being made?

Just wondeirng if anybody has any video clips on a clay chip being made, I would love to see hows its done. Has anybody ever gone to a factory, say like Paulson or BC and take a tour of the place?

Re: Ever seen a chip being made?

I would love to see how a chip is made as well. If Paulson does tours of their factory for the public, I'm pretty sure I'd get myself arrested or kicked out of their factory.

Re: Ever seen a chip being made?

No, no video clips or personal experience (with my own eyes). I think the closest most of us have come to seeing them made is something like this : http://www.antiquegamblingchips.com/mfgchip.htm ... Which I'm sure we've all seen before ...

I would love to accomodate, but can't. The link to Robert Eisenstadt's site is your best info. on the basic process. We hold tolerances to a couple thousandths, but you would be amazed at how labor intensive it is. That is the main cost driver on why clay chips cost so much.

Someone needs to submit this idea to the show "How its made" if they havent done a episode of it yet.

like Mr. Endy said, he would like to, but the security is too much of an issue. It's like those Keebler elves making cookies in tree houses...they want to show..but they can't unfortunately...

Re: Ever seen a chip being made?

LOL...before I started my business I was a production manager at Frito Lay...slicing the potato thin is correct, but your oil temperature is way too hot! You're going to end up with some scorched chips!

When you note 'security' are you referring to trade manufacturing secrets?

Not security for casino customer accounts, right?
As far as I've heard there are no casino accounts for Blue Chip.
