Some Deadwood Chips

Went to Deadwood SD for part of the long July 4th weekend. Brought back a few chips and thought I would share a scan of them. Some other casinos also have poker but use the metal tokens for $1 chips. I'm too cheap to buy many $5 chips for my collection.

Obverse side of the 4 Aces/Jack Daniels/Sturgis commemorative, Saloon #10, Silverado/Poker Alice.

I thought I was going to buy a 2006 Sturgis commemorative, but those won't be in til late this month. What I got was last years (2005) that was still in stock. A $25 commemorative chip is also available.

did you squeeze in any poker? I really want to see it, some of the pics of it online are stunning. I still haven't seen the Deadwood show; I just became interested in it for Wild Bill and it seemed very intriguing.

Nope, didn't do any poker. I'm still pretty green at the game and just looking at the dudes playing I don't think I would have lasted too long. Would be fun though. Had mixed luck at the blackjack tables.

The area really is very beautiful. It's a neat little town. A lot of history there. Nice place to go for a little vacation. Highly reccomended. Close to Mount Rushmore and other attractions. Lot's different than it was 20 years ago before gambling was there. In some ways better, in some ways not. Definitely more crowded now.

I watched the re-enactment of Wild Bill's murder in the Saloon #10 one evening. And then the subsequent apprehension of Jack McCall out in the street . Neat little production. I doubt Wild Bill ever dreamed he'd be so famous.
