Advice on buying Paulson Chips (and customizing)....

I am planning to buy a set of 500 Paulson chips. Five different colors, no denoms and would like to use custom text.

What in your opinion is the best place to buy custom Paulson chips?

Looking for sound advice and guidance from Paulson chip owners.

I have read the reviews about JBs and Trademark Paulsons. Leaning towards Trademarks...............

Is there such a thing as NO DENOM Paulson chip??

Re: Advice on buying Paulson Chips (and customizing)....

To put it plainly, you can't buy cutomized paulsons (unless you are buying about 250,000 of them that is). They don't cater to the home market. Sorry!

And yes there are non denom paulsons. Check out the pharaohs NCV chips that holdempokerchips.com sells. They are pretty cool. http://www.holdempokerchips.com/products.asp?cat=54

I own a set of these myself.

Thanks Jim.

I looked but for some reason couldnt find these. They look great.

I went to pokerchiplounge

http://www.pokerchiplounge.com/produ...iew/670_2.html

And found out that the front and back can be customized for a 500 chip set. the price is high though.....$751 for 500 .

Re: Advice on buying Paulson Chips (and customizing)....

Those are simply Paulsons that someone slapped a label on and called "custom".

Here is an idea that I have seen and that I am in the process of doing... I got a bunch of different Hat and Cane Paulsons with Hotstamps and I am in the process of putting on my own labels. I was able to get a custom (to the extent I got the edgespots that I could) set with a custom label and I am spending less than $500 for 500 chips.

It's a thought.

Re: Advice on buying Paulson Chips (and customizing)....

Yeah Stevo nailed it, these are just stickers on trademark classics. You can do this much cheaper by buying the trademarks in the configuration you want, then getting labels made and applying them yourself. One of the chiptalk vendors (http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/person...ps-com-offers/) does nice labels. I've had him make some for me recently. They are thin vinyl and will fit inside the inlay area perfectly and no rub against the other chips when stacked.

Re: Advice on buying Paulson Chips (and customizing)....

Thanks for replying guys.

I failed to mention that I didnt want to customize the mold, edge spots etc. The thing I cant have on the chip is the denom.

The chips will be used for friendly home games (no cash involved). We play for fun 2 to 4 times a month. The chips we use are plastic. These Paulson's will be great. We will be able to shuffle them and everything .

Correct me if I am wrong here guys, from what I have read on this board these chips are the best clay chips available for home games and are similar/close to the actual chips used in Casinos.

About the labels.......Do these last pretty good, any warranties if I get the labeling and the chips from the same vendor.

JIM..... I will check that link out...thanks...

Stevo...A choice of edgespots sounds good. Can u please send me the llink?

Re: Advice on buying Paulson Chips (and customizing)....

You can't have custom edge spots made to your liking by Paulson (you can't have a real custom Paulson set made for you) ... and the spot patterns and colors offered to the home market are SLIM (2 variations : JBs/Pharaohs/Trademarks or NPS) ... as for the BEST clay chip on the market ... well obviously that's opinion, but Paulsons are very VERY good. Paulson chips are the most used clay chip in casinos, but the Paulsons in casinos aren't exactly the same as the kind offered to the public for purchase ... but close enough.

I'm not a big fan of putting labels on a Paulson, that's just me.
If you truly want a custom inlaid chip with whatever text or whatever you want on the inlay, you should maybe consider a set from ASM (pokerchips.com), or just get a Paulson chip you like, like the Trademarks like you said and be happy with that.

Re: Advice on buying Paulson Chips (and customizing)....

No link for edgespots other than...

www.ebay.com

Search "Paulson"

I basically searched until I was able to make a playable set and bought it up at different times, from different vendors. The mold was the same for all the chips and I got the edge-spot variation that I wanted.

Of course, because I wanted only hot-stamps, I was somewhat limited, but my final price worked out to < $1 per chip.

Go forth and conquer...

Re: Advice on buying Paulson Chips (and customizing)....

The site who offer paulsons with laminated labels offers samples

Has/Can anyone get hold off some of these and post pics???

I would get some myself just out of curiosity but they will charge me postage to the UK.

I would love to see what they really look like (not the mock up on their site)
