Chips: 275 | | | Paulson composition I have a paulson $1 chip from circus circus (white with pink spots) which is a true TH&C (8 off) which is nicely rounded from casino play. This chip has quite a course feel to the clay area of the chip.
My question is... will the paulson home chips (i.e. the NPS chips I have) ever feel the same?
Did these chips feel like the new home chips when they were new??

What you are feeling on the casino chip is years of use and hand oils soaking into the chip. It changes the feel of the chip dramatically.
It wont be easy to get home chips feeling that way unless they see very heavy use. |

Used Paulson casino chips that I've gotten with nicely rounded edges feel smooth and soft to me. I'm wondering if the courseness your describing couldn't be from some abrasive cleaner used on the chip. Have they ever been cleaned? |

Not sure - it's a single chips from Old Vegas Chips... so I don't know if it has been cleaned or not.
I like the feel and if my chips can feel like that after a lot of play then I know what to do... play some more poker

Which is why I don't believe in prematurely aging clay chips any other way than with natural usage. |

I think the home chips are softer, more "crayola", and they don't sound the same...
Been wondering about that. |

Been wondering about that. | I also think it depends alot on the inlay size, when I shuffle my New Yorkers, or even my NY, NY casino chips they sound nothing like my Pharaohs. The smaller the inlay, the chip will have a higher pitched sound. At least thats the way it sounds to me. It also depends on the wear as well, new chips sound different than used one.. |
