Chips: 1,617 | | | shipping and duty issues OK so here is my issue, not only do I live in Canada but in fact I live in the high arctic (75 degrees north to be exact) I want/need some new chips and kind of decided on 1000 chip set of lucky bees from either 5stardeal or discountcasinogear BUT I know I am going to hit hard on shipping and/or duty when it crosses the border. Now if the duty tag said gift I would be in the clear I think? Does anyone else from Canada know any solution to have any suggestions. The chip set is 1000 lucky bees with 10 racks and a birdcage for $199. I just can't see that anywhere from the Canadian suppliers I have found.
So I was thinking if I could not find a less expensive Canadian alternative, what about if had them shipped to someone in the states and then they would in turn send it to me in Canada as a gift. I would pay two shippings but I think I may save money in the long run? Any thoughts on this?
*EDIT*
Of course I am reading post after post from the Faux Clay Nation so maybe I should be thinking about different chips... but no matter what chip I get if I buy from the states or to be more specific if I buy from a store in the states who will not ship as a gift I am going to get into the same problem at the border. |

He had the items shipped to me and I turn around and ship it to him and mark it as a gift and declare the value at $10.00. The people at UPS here told me they would have to pay at the border but he didn't. I am willing to do it for you to if you decide to go that route. Let me know |

Chips: 1,617 | | | Re: shipping and duty issues I agree, if I needed that many chips. There is only 230 people in my town and we are a fly-in place so it's not like people can drive to my games! 1000 ships are all I need. But I do think I will order sample of both faux clay and bees and decide for myself... of the problems "look" or "feel and stackabilty"!! what to do, it would not be a problem if I did not just sell by dice!! |

Chips: 111 | | | Re: shipping and duty issues There is do DUTY on chips to Canada. There is GST and the infamous UPS brokerage charges but chips are duty free. If you can get them ship via Postal Service, the Post Office will charge you only $5 for the paperwork plus GST. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
