Question for the Faux Clay Nation

Lumpy posted a poll not too long ago entitled "How many chips do you own?".

Along the same lines, I am wondering how many faux clay people have.

For the price of a small set of clay or ceramic chips, I am entertaining the idea of getting some ridiculous number of these beauties. Maybe it's the heat, or maybe I'm just hoping to gauge how sick I really am, but I think it would be interesting to hear about people's sets of faux clay.

Re: Question for the Faux Clay Nation

Just 400 for me. I've used them 3-4 times when I was in between Pharaoh's and the custom ASM's.

Re: Question for the Faux Clay Nation

I think that's a great idea. I personally plan on using my Fauxs for all my tourneys so if I ever have a larger number of people I can just buy more (although if I somehow come into a lot of money I will invest in getting WSOP-like chips from Chipco, perhaps I'll be able to get some BPC ones off someone here in the future :P), and I'm about to invest in a small set of TRKings (500 probably) to use exclusively as a cash game set.

Fauxs are awesome I'd invest in labels but I'm rather lazy to apply them all (although I might break eventually and order some with the design for my ceramic inlay) I currently only have 300 because I only have 8-10 people at my games right now.

1600, cause you never know when a 40 man tourney will break out.

Very nice. What colors do you have? If 1600 chips will handle 40 people, would 400-500 of each of the 9 colors (4000 chips) be enough for 100 entrants?

Re: Question for the Faux Clay Nation

I have 500 although we only get 6 to 10 people per game. I have the set configured to handle a T5000 tournament for up to 18 players though. Once my TR Kings arrive I anticipate a long sleep for my fauxs as they will be relegated to tournament use only (and we now play nothing but cash games).

Re: Question for the Faux Clay Nation

I currently have 580 faux clays, which I picked up to use as a cash set while waiting on customs. It has also been doubling for our tournaments since I sold my plain ASMs and Egyptians, though.

I've given thought to buying a bunch more of them They'd be great to use for a huge (relative to ours, with 4-8 people) tournament.

Well, 4000 chips would certainly be enough for 100 players, but not if you get all 9 colors. Get only 3 or 4 colors at most, and that could work. Too many colors is confusing and wastes time for color-ups IMO.

Oh yeah, get some of each color just for the helluva it (this is Chiptalk, after all) but not for your tourney.
