Question New Paulsons: Issue with chip thickness.

Does anyone know if the chip thickness issue with the new Paulson chips has been resolved? The issue I speak of is where a certain denomination of chip being thinner that the other denominations. In image below the Green $25 chips are noticeably thinner than the other denomination chips:

Click on this link and go down to the third picture for another example: http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/poker-...trademark.html

I was about to pull the trigger on purchasing several hundred of the new Paulson Classic chips, but the thickness issue is bugging me. I appreciate all comments.

Hey! That looks like my kitchen what a coincidence!!

If it helps, I did not see any problems with the JB chips (in that picture) all chips were the same thickness. Maybee its just a TM Paulson problem.

That would bug me too. There always seems to some kind of issue even with a $1 chip.

Re: New Paulsons: Issue with chip thickness.

I got a set of the same chips a month ago: Same issue with the greens here. Excactly as described previously in that article you have linked. Doesn't bother me though.

Re: New Paulsons: Issue with chip thickness.

That's odd because my Pharaoh's 25-100-500-1000s all stack up the same, and that's the same basic chip as the Trademark. Maybe the manufacturing lots were different, or all the Pharaoh's were made at the same time, or something like that....

Re: New Paulsons: Issue with chip thickness.

I didnt get my pharaohs with the group buy, instead I acquired them overtime from hpc and a few people here. Most recently I bought 60(?) or so more of the greens and have had no problems.

When were those chips bought? and are the denom or NCV?

Re: New Paulsons: Issue with chip thickness.

I don't believe Trademarks were manfactured from the same run as the Pharaoh's so there can be differences. The molds look the same so I would assume they used the same ones. Other than the different colors you would think using the same mold wouldn't cause any variance between the denoms. BUT, it appears there might be a different mold for each denom after all with this chip thickness issue. I don't know, and Pauslon would never tell anyone what the process is for making their chips. It's unfortunante the $25 chip has this issue since it's a popular denom in both cash and tourney sets.

Re: New Paulsons: Issue with chip thickness.

I have a small set of Pharaoh's ,48 green 48 black, 6 purps. The green and black stack to the same height...so no issue here. Btu one thing to note is that weighing 10 at a time, the green stacks of ten are about 1 gram heavier than stacks fo 10 black chips...or ~.1g/per chip heavier...

Re: New Paulsons: Issue with chip thickness.

I used to own a set of 550 Paulson Trademarks when they were first released to the public.

My green $25 were noticeably thinner when stacked up 50 chips high.
The manufacturer rep's response was that most people only stack them 20 chips-high during play, and when mixed up, the heights should average out.

Well, I tried to live with them, but it kept bugging me, so I finally sold my BRAND NEW set on eBay.
