Anyone lose a wife or gf over chips?

I'm fortunate enough to have a gf that can hang with the best of them at poker, so it's a non-issue for me. Any horror stories?

I came VERY close but luckily I hit the dream card on the river and my flush because a straight flush to suck out on made quads.

I almost killed a wife over poker chips. She got mad at me and she threw 2 whole racks of mint unplayed Palmas at the wall. Luckily there was no damage that I could see.

Of course I am joking about killing her. I would never actually do it.

You sure? A whole rack of Palmas? NOT EVEN, 2 whole racks? Sounds like justifiable homicide to me; that lawyer from Law & Order could totally get you off. All you'd need was 1 chiptalker on the jury and you'd probably get the treble damages awarded on top of an acquittal.

My girlfriend of almost 4 years would not be pleased if she knew how much I have spent on poker related things, but each time I have a different set of chips out, she doesn't even notice they have changed.

I made her play me heads up with TR King Casbah Clubs, then a month or two later we played again and I had Pharaoh's and she didn't even notice!! Now I just showed her my custom ASMS, and she just looks at them and walks away!!

I have a funny story when we were playing heads up once, she made a J-high straight on the turn, which also made me a small flush. She knows very little about poker, but I taught her how to slowplay, which she did, the she went all in on the river (very proud of herself with the straight), I called, and we have not played poker together since (we're both VERY competitive).

She's never thrown my chips off the wall, though!!

Not yet but I'm working my way there (I think). Luckily, I just finished putting up the window treatments so I think I've bought myself a little bit of time.
