Chips: 1,310 | | | What can one get for $120 (or less)? I had the idea of buying my sister-in-law's boyfriend a set of chips. While I wasn't going to spend $500 for a set of clays, I did think i could do better than plastic composite chips. Looking around, there seems to be a huge gap. You can get 1000 chips sets on EBay (plastic composite) for $40 to $50 bucks. The best deal I found for better chips is $200 for a set of 300 used Desert Sands...but that's outside the budget permited. I'm not a fan of Nexgen and don't consider them to be a viable option.
Anyone have suggestions?

Save yourself some money and also give him something custom with his name on them or something.
More than likely he wouldn't know the difference anyways.

Otherwise, I agree, Faux Clays, Sopranos, or Nexgens....

Roland | The problem is that he's played with *my* chips. Played with the Crystal parks when I had those, played with my Good Luck Clubs, and he'll eventually see the PNYs... Now, I don't know for certain whether he *cares* but he defeinitely *knows*...

Faux clays and Sopranos are lines I'm not familir with but I'll search on EBay for examples. Thanks everyone, these suggestions are great. Maybe I *will* go in on the Bellagio GB...

Your best bet, aside from getting really lucky on m2m or some such thing, is the faux clay. 1000 chips that feel and sound great for $60, and you still have cash leftover for labels. Sure, they aren't super-pretty, but for the money they are imho the best thing going.
Cheers
