Talking Newbie (First Post)

So after lurking here on CT for a couple weeks, I thought I'd make an intro post.

Of course, I play poker. Usually, at the local casino/card room and at home games. Most of my home games are low stakes because many of my friends are not really into poker like I am or don't want to "risk" large amounts. This is all fine to me because I like the social aspects of playing poker with my friends. If I want "bigger" stakes, I just go to my local card room.

The chip set I currently own is my first one. So obviously, I own the plastic/metal insert A-K suited set. Now, after being enlightened on what makes a good quality chip, I am working on a non-denominational Pharoah's Club set for cash games and saving up for a customish tourney set.

There is a vast amount of information here at CT. I love having this information available to help me better my home poker game experiences.

I agree totally with what you've said ...
My friends and I, when we get together, we only play .05c/.10c NL (there's only about 4-5 of us) ... the low stakes doesn't make us play any different than if it were bigger stakes, and we're all very good players ... we love playing the game ... but if we're looking to make some big money then we'll play at the casino, or hold a tourney, or go play somewhere else, or play online ...

Welcome to the forum famousramos.

Re: Newbie (First Post)

welcome famous.

i also own an NCV pharoah set, and have been extremely happy with its versatility and quality.

of course, you'll probably need to get a second job now that you've found this place. oh - and if you're married, make sure thay your pre-nup is bulletproof. you may want to add a clause about how purchasing 7 sets of poker chips in one year does not constitute grounds for divorce

Welcome Famous.

This damn site cost me about as much in custom poker chips as it will cost the DUKE LACROSSE student for strippers and Lawyers fees.

GOOD TO HAVE YOU ABOARD!

Re: Newbie (First Post)

Welcome, I've only been a member for a few months and have had to take out a second mortgage on my house to pay for all my chips.
