For practical purpose, none.

Re: Question for hotstamp owners

I'm a hot stamp owner. I don't know for certain ... BUT if it does, it's definitely not anything noticeable (on any type of chip).

Re: Question for hotstamp owners

If you ever held some of that foil in your hand you would not even know it was there. It is ULTRA thin. Plus, the amount of foil that actually stays on the chip compared to the sheet of it is fractional. I'll bet the weight of the hotstamp is about equal to the weight of the dust that collected on the chip overnight.

I agree. A hotstamp will add no weight. Just make sure the company doing it sets the machine up correctly. If the stamp is to deep, it can cause a spinner.

BTW a spinner is a raised center that makes stacking difficult..

Re: Question for hotstamp owners

Are spinners, or other such irregularities, common on the Starbursts (or other hotstamped Paulsons)?

I'd have to say no. I haven't noticed any issues with the 1200+ hot stamped paulsons I have. There might be a couple in there, but they're under the radar, so to speak.

I have several thousand hot stamped Paulsons and aside from a particular batch of blues I've got, I've seen some but not many. Club Poker got a rack of blues from me before I realized they had a high rate of this problem, so he is more aware of it than most. I expect the raised hotstamps are self correcting as the chips break in and is not generally found in chips that have seen play. If you have more than a few per 100 chips I'd say that is too many.

I don't consider the amount of raised hotstamps CP received acceptable, and we worked out an arraingment where to my understanding he is happy with his purchase. I'm not actively selling the blues anymore since many of the ones I have appear to have this issue.
